The reason for the difference in the date of Eid al-Adha

The difference in the date of Eid al-Adha is due to the sighting of the crescent of the Hijri month on the 29th of each month, and in some places it may not be seen, so the Hijri month becomes 30 days.

The official bodies in the Sultanate of Oman and Morocco announced that it was not possible to see the crescent of the blessed month of Dhu al-Hijjah on Thursday, June 6, 2024, and thus the beginning of the blessed month was on Saturday, June 8, 2024, thus different from most Arab and Islamic countries.

Saudi Arabia announced that the total number of pilgrims this year 1445 AH reached 1,833,164 pilgrims, of whom 1,611,310 pilgrims came from outside the Kingdom through various ports, while the number of domestic pilgrims reached 221,854 pilgrims, both citizens and residents.

The number of male pilgrims reached 958,137 pilgrims, while the number of female pilgrims reached 875,027.

According to the Saudi authorities, the percentage of pilgrims coming from Arab countries reached 22.3%, while the percentage of pilgrims from Asian countries other than Arab countries reached 63.3%, the percentage of pilgrims from African countries other than Arab countries reached 11.3%, and the percentage of pilgrims from European countries, America, Australia and other unclassified countries was 3.2%.

As for the methods of arrival of pilgrims from outside the Kingdom, 1,546,345 pilgrims arrived via air ports, while 60,251 pilgrims arrived via land ports, and 4,714 pilgrims arrived via sea ports.
