A low pressure system will affect the Levant on Thursday and Friday, followed by a very cold air mass of polar origin.
Arab Weather - The latest readings from computer simulation outputs indicate that the Levant will be affected by a low pressure system and a very cold air mass starting Thursday and continuing on Friday, so temperatures will drop significantly compared to previous days, and cold to very cold, rainy and stormy winter weather will prevail, with heavy snowfall over the high mountainous areas in Syria and Lebanon.
Active winds will also blow, accompanied by strong gusts, leading to the formation of dense dust waves and sandstorms in the Badia Al-Sham, western Iraq, and northern Saudi Arabia.
A cold polar air mass is heading to the region on Saturday, with expected impacts on the entire Levant
The eastern Mediterranean basin, including the Levant in general, is affected by a polar air mass of very cold origin, so there is a sharp drop in both maximum and minimum temperatures, making the weather very cold and perhaps the coldest since the beginning of the current winter at least.
Computer modeling differs in sensing the path of this air mass and the resulting chances of precipitation, whether snow or rain, but it can be said that the chances of snowfall will become clear in the coming days, but it is certain that the general weather will be extremely cold, God willing.
We at the Arab Weather Center will provide you with more details when the next updates are issued.
And God knows best.
