This condition comes within the framework of the Kingdom's continued influence from time to time by minor weather conditions and in light of a clear lack of momentum from the successive winter depressions that are usual at this time of year.

Despite the chances of rain, the absence of integrated winter depressions continues

The experts at the Arab Weather Center explained that the upcoming situation in the Kingdom at the end of this week is the result of a cold and humid air mass rushing into the upper layers of the atmosphere near the Kingdom, but it does not deepen enough to the eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea, but it provokes the Red Sea depression to expand towards the north, generating a state of atmospheric instability. This is evident from what the computer modeling senses, that rainfall is not expected to be continuous as is the case with winter (classified) depressions, but will be at spaced intervals and the weather will be changeable from time to time and even from one region to another, which is what distinguishes such cases.
Although many low pressure centers are expected to form in the region, they are secondary, scattered, closed, and also linked to the Red Sea depression. All of these centers cause wind dispersion, meaning that it is not a regular surface system as is the case with integrated winter depressions. These cases are known as complex weather conditions and are present in the Kingdom’s climate archive, but they occur frequently during the fall or spring, and not in the middle of winter!

Scientifically: Why did the weather system not develop into a classified winter depression?

The specialists at the Arab Weather Center confirmed that the weather systems are still immature in terms of winter in the region until the time of preparing this report, as the way the jet stream undulates and the axis and force of the cold and humid air masses in the upper layers rushing towards the region is still unconventional, which results in the weather conditions being minor and not developing into full-fledged winter depressions.
Scientifically, in the upcoming case, the jet stream will also be on the edges of the southern Levant and will be at an obtuse and wide angle, which leads to the dynamics of the case not being strong and the surface system accompanying the case not being deep. While the behavior of the jet stream accompanying the winter systems will be narrow and regularly wavy, and the upper influence causes the formation of a surface low pressure system around the island of Cyprus and works as a generator to cause both rain and snow.
