The center explained that sighting the crescent on Monday , April 8, is impossible in countries that will sight the crescent on that day. Because of the moon setting before the sun and the conjunction occurring after sunset, these countries will therefore complete the month of Ramadan with thirty days , so that Wednesday , April 10, will be the happy Eid al-Fitr in them.
Which countries will fast for 29 days in Ramadan 2024?
As for the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan, Morocco, Libya, Iran, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, which began the month of Ramadan on Tuesday, March 12 , and which will sight the crescent on Tuesday, April 9 , corresponding to the twenty-ninth of the month of Ramadan there.
Seeing the crescent moon on that day is possible using a telescope from the east of the world and southern Africa, and with difficulty with the naked eye from central Asia and central Africa.
As for West Asia, North Africa, most of Europe, and most of the American continents, the crescent can be seen with the naked eye relatively easily.
It is expected that these countries will announce the sighting of the crescent on that day, so that Wednesday, April 10, will be Eid al-Fitr in them as well, but it is not unlikely that India and Bangladesh will announce that the sighting of the crescent was not confirmed on Tuesday, making Thursday, April 11, Eid al-Fitr in them.
