Category 5 Hurricane Otis struck Mexico's southern Pacific coast on October 25, causing severe damage to hotels and residential infrastructure in Acapulco and Coyuca de Benitez.
Salgado said during a press conference from Acapulco that revitalizing the famous coastal resort for tourism is essential after nearly two months.
President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said at the press conference that he expected the "rebirth of Acapulco" and the residents of the neighboring Coyuca de Benítez district to fully recover.
