The Municipality of Amman raises the state of emergency to the maximum degree in preparation for the low air and expected rain

The weather of Arabia - Sinan Khalaf - coinciding with the beginning of the increasing influence of the low air on the Kingdom, the Municipality of Amman has raised the state of emergency from the medium to the maximum "water", as of after Wednesday afternoon, its preparedness and willingness to deal with the expected heavy rains.

And the head of the emergency department, Eng. Shaher Al-Abadi, stated that a maximum state of "water" during which water workshops and working groups equipped with mechanisms and equipment to deal with weather conditions are strengthened around the clock.

He added that for the first time, the Municipality of Amman will use "plastic" water barriers to divert water paths and reduce its runoff, indicating that about 1,200 water barriers will be distributed in the areas of the capital.

Al-Abadi added that 194 pumps (submersible) and about 175 mechanisms (suction motors) are ready and distributed in the capital's regions to deal with weather conditions.

Al-Rahmanah indicated that the Municipality of Amman is implementing, within its annual winter plan, a program to clean the rainwater drainage fountains, which number about 23 thousand and 500 manholes in various areas of the capital, in addition to valleys and entrances and exits of rainwater drainage ferries, and work to test submersible pumps in tunnels, And pumps in the Hashemite Square, and the distribution of giant pumps within 7 locations in the capital.

The Secretariat calls on the fraternal citizens to move away from the valleys of the valleys and low areas, and not to connect the gutters (the roof) to the fountains (the sewers) in order to avoid flooding in the roads, and not to throw the waste at random to cause it to close the rainwater drainage lines.

It calls for inspecting submersible pumps on floors and shops that fall below street level, and for merchants to take precautions when storing goods in warehouses and leveling floors.

It also calls on contractors and project owners to secure building materials in order to avoid erosion and direct cause of the closure of rainwater drainage lines, in addition to the need to stay away from low areas, torrents and valleys.
