ومن الجدير ذكره أن مناطق وسط وجنوب السودان تتعرض خلال فصل الصيف لأمطار موسمية تستمر لمدة شهرين تبدأ من شهر تموز وتنتهي مع نهاية شهر أغسطس وهي تتبع حركة الفاصل المداري الذي يتحرك بين خط الاستواء ومدار السرطان شمالاً .
