93rd Saudi National Day holiday

Weather of Arabia - The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates Saudi National Day on the anniversary of the unification of the Kingdom on September 23 of each year, and this date dates back to the royal decree issued by the founding King Abdulaziz No. 2716 on the date of Jumada al-Awwal 17, 1351 AH. This decree stipulated changing the name of the state from “The Kingdom of Hijaz, Najd, and its annexes” to “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” starting on Thursday, 21 Jumada al-Awwal of the year 1351 AH, corresponding to the first of Libra, and corresponding to September 23, 1932 AD.

National Day holiday for the private and public sectors

The Ministry of Human Resources announced the date of the National Day holiday for employees in the government and private sectors, and clarified that the 2023 National Day holiday for the private and non-profit sectors will be on Saturday, Rabi’ al-Awwal 8, 1445 AH, corresponding to September 23, 2023 AD .

The Ministry of Human Resources explained that the leave comes in accordance with Article 24 of the work system regulations, noting that every employer must adhere to what was stated in the second paragraph of Article 24 of the work system regulations.

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Engineer Ahmed Al-Rajhi, had issued a circular to government agencies that apply to their employees the executive regulations for human resources in the civil service, which included three amendments to the National Day and Establishment Day holidays.

The decision included amending paragraph (b) of Article (127) of the executive regulations for human resources in the civil service, to read as follows: “B - National Day holiday: the (first) day of the balance at the beginning of the Hijri solar year, corresponding to September 23 of the Gregorian year. The Foundation Day holiday falls on February 22 of each year. If the National Day or Foundation Day falls on a Saturday, it will be compensated for on the following Sunday, and if it falls on a Friday, it will be compensated for on the Thursday before it. Otherwise, the employee will not be compensated for the National Day holiday or the following Sunday. Establishment if another official holiday agrees .
