Establishing a center for storing electric energy in Jordan
ArabiaWeather.com- The American company "AES" announced its intention to establish a center to conserve the electric energy produced from its renewable energy projects in Jordan and the Middle East. According to the local newspaper Al-Ghad.
The center will include batteries dedicated to preserving the electricity produced from its renewable energy projects in the Middle East, as Jordan will be a starting point for them in the region to conserve and use this energy.”
The capacity of these batteries will range from 20 to 100 megawatts, while the final cost of the project is not clear.
The company is owned through a joint venture with the Japanese company Mitsui; The private generation projects and the fourth for the production of electric power in the Kingdom are located in the Madouna area in the village of Al-Manakher, east of Amman.
The two projects together cover about 25% of the total electrical load in the Kingdom, as the generating capacity of the first project is 370 megawatts, while the capacity of the fourth project is 241 megawatts.
The project relies on a hybrid technology to generate electricity by traditional methods using heavy fuel or diesel and solar energy at the same time for a period of 7 to 8 hours per day, and it will produce about 100 megawatts of electricity at the maximum level through solar cells, and the construction cost reaches about $ 180 million. .
