He stated that the volume of rain that fell during the past 24 hours recorded 188.9 million cubic meters, the largest share of which was for the capital Amman, 90.3 million cubic meters, followed by Mafraq 37 million cubic meters, then Al Balqa 17.5 million cubic meters, and Zarqa 14.4 million cubic meters, then Madaba 10.5 million cubic meters, Karak 8.4, Irbid 7.2 million cubic meters, Ajloun 2.1 million cubic meters, crunches 1.3 million cubic meters, and Tafila 0.2 million meters Cubic, then Ma'an 0.1 million cubic meters, while Aqaba did not record anything.
In the same context, the Minister called on citizens, farmers and livestock keepers to take effective and responsible measures to protect their crops, livestock, water meters and various household facilities from the expected frost waves during the coming hours due to low temperatures, which will continue for several days.
He stressed the need to take measures to ensure the protection of crops adjacent to torrents and valleys, from the danger of raiding floodwaters, especially those that fall below dams, with the continued coming of depressions in the Kingdom loaded with rain of good.
He added, that all water authority cadres, located in all regions, must take all necessary measures to coordinate with the various bodies, administrative rulers and mayors.
The Minister of Water and Irrigation appealed to everyone to need to deal responsibly with the instructions and calls of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and its institutions, stating that the staff of the Water Authority, the Jordan Valley Authority and the water companies take the necessary precautions in such conditions and that the Operations and Control Center in the Ministry and the Consolidated Complaints Center receive notes around the clock Weather developments and deals with them with responsibility.
He added that he issued clear instructions to the Water Authority, water departments and companies to implement awareness-raising campaigns and receive citizens' comments, to guide them in this area, as well as to the Jordan Valley Authority.
And Abu Al-Saud stated, that operating rooms were created around the clock, in the northern, central and southern Jordan Valley, and Wadi Araba, with the aim of communicating with farmers in the field, societies, administrative rulers and mayors to ensure that crops are not affected by the frost waves, as well as increasing the amount of irrigation water and liquefying it to areas especially in The northern, central and southern valley areas, which are expected to be a strong frost wave, especially in the northeastern Badia and northern Jordan Valley areas, as well as raising awareness of livestock owners in particular.
