Global warming...an important challenge that requires unified efforts to address it
Arabia Weather - The increasing temperature of the Earth's surface is among the greatest concerns facing humanity, due to its devastating effects on all aspects of life. Warning about this shift has been accumulating for decades, and many wonder about its pivotal aspects and downsides.
Global efforts are now being consolidated to avoid further consequences of climate change, and keeping global warming within 1.5 degrees is emerging as a key focus. To achieve this goal, international institutions are working hard to reduce carbon emissions and the use of fossil fuels, promote the use of renewable energy sources, build cities that reduce their emissions, expand tree planting efforts, as well as promote the adoption of a non-processed diet and the use of sustainable materials.
- Reduce carbon and fuel
- Low emission cities
- Planting trees
- Use sustainable materials
1.5 degrees is the maximum level
The level of one and a half degrees Celsius has been set as the maximum limit for global warming, a goal that global efforts are seriously seeking to achieve. This level is clearly shown in the Paris climate agreement reached in 2015.
The World Meteorological Organization has issued warnings about an increase in the possibility of the planet’s temperature rising by one point five by the end of 2026. When this rise is achieved, its effects will be clear on humans and all creatures, which requires attention, vigilance, and taking serious measures to address and confront climate change.
Temperatures have risen 1.2 degrees since the industrial era
Scientists at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have confirmed that the planet's temperature has risen by one to two points since the beginning of the industrial era, as a result of increasing emissions of gases that promote increased global warming in the atmosphere.
Temperatures are accelerating unevenly on Earth, with land areas witnessing an increase estimated at approximately one point five degrees Celsius, a rate higher than the increase recorded over the surface of the oceans.
Also, the Northern Hemisphere is becoming warmer, with Europe seeing a rise of about two degrees Celsius, and the Arctic warming by three degrees.
The main challenge remains to avoid extreme global warming before it becomes unavoidable.
