The use of solar energy is on the rise in Britain

ArabiaWeather.com - During the month of May, the United Kingdom recorded clear progress in increasing the production of electric energy based on solar energy for the first time, compared to energy generated from coal.

Renewable solar energy has achieved an increase of 50% of the electrical energy used in the country. To record about 1336 gigawatt-hours of electricity generated from solar energy, compared to 893 gigawatt-hours of electricity generated from coal, according to Russia Today.

Solar plants in the United Kingdom produced more electricity on April 9 than other energy sources such as coal.

It is noteworthy that the rates of power generation from coal recorded a noticeable decrease during the past year 2015, which was the lowest in 55 years.
