The Levant continues to be affected by a state of atmospheric instability and heavy thunderstorms on the coasts of Syria and Lebanon
Arab Weather - Weather maps at the Arab Weather Regional Center indicate that Syria and Lebanon, especially the coastal areas, will continue to be affected by a state of atmospheric instability tonight and Thursday, as large amounts of clouds multiply at different altitudes and showers of rain fall that are very heavy, causing the formation of torrents and rising water levels with strong descending winds during the passage of thunderstorms.
Heavy rains on the coasts of Syria and Lebanon, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail
In detail, weather experts at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the latest computer outputs indicate an increase in atmospheric instability in the Levant, specifically Syria and Lebanon, coinciding with the first days of astronomical autumn, as cumulonimbus clouds multiply and showers of rain fall (rain is characterized during this time of the year by being very heavy in a short period of time), especially in coastal areas including Latakia and Tartous, in addition to the mountains overlooking the coasts. The rain coincides with the occurrence of strong thunderstorms, which causes flash floods and a rise in water levels on the roads.
Chances of scattered rain showers covering parts of Palestine and Jordan
As for Palestine and Jordan, there are chances of scattered showers of rain, especially in parts of the northern and central regions. It is worth noting that the very cold weather will continue in the coming days, God willing.
Thursday/Friday night will be very cold with temperatures dropping below zero degrees Celsius in several areas.
During this night, the amount of clouds decreases further, and the cold weather at night reaches its peak. According to the Arab Weather Center, temperatures will drop further to be close to zero degrees Celsius in several parts of the Levant during the late night hours, and will drop below zero, especially in the Levant desert and high mountain peaks.
With the appropriate weather conditions and the harsh cold weather resulting from the drop in temperatures to around zero degrees Celsius, frost forms in many and wide areas of the Levant, including the main cities, while the formation of freezing in places where water pools are located is not excluded. Frost formation begins early in the night hours, i.e. Tuesday/Wednesday night, and intensifies and expands with time, and continues until the late hours of Wednesday morning, especially in the desert, above the high mountain heights, and the eastern plains areas.
And God knows best.
