Opening of the world's first solar-powered hotel in Dubai
ArabiaWeather.com - The United Arab Emirates announced the establishment of the first solar-powered hotel in the world in 2017, as the hotel will be supplied with its electrical energy through solar batteries.
The InterContinental Hotels Group website stated that the group's "Indigo" hotel will open in 2017 in a residential neighborhood in the Emirate of Dubai, with 170 rooms.
He added that the hotel will treat all sewage and exhausts independently, as the hotel is supposed to be environmentally clean to a large extent.
The hotel will have the opportunity to sell the surplus solar energy it will produce to other consumers. This is done by connecting it to the city’s electrical network, according to Farid Saeed, CEO of the company that undertook the construction of the hotel, who confirmed that this method will enable hotel owners to reduce the price of electric energy by 25-30%.
