Arab Weather - Yesterday, many countries in southern and southeastern Europe were affected by a severe rainstorm, which resulted in very heavy rains that included several parts of southern Europe, and floods formed in some areas, as the floods caused the death of at least 18 people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Weather forecasters at Arab Weather said that the extreme weather conditions come after southern Europe was affected by a deep low pressure system resulting from the rush of a cold air mass from northern Europe towards the region, coinciding with the rush of warm and humid currents coming from the African continent, where a rainstorm formed that affected several parts of Italy, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and several parts of south-southeast Europe.
We have indicated in the Arab Weather Center, in previous reports, about the expected warming of the polar dome and the formation of a high-pressure system over the North Pole and its potential effects in extreme weather conditions in some regions, as the weakness of the polar vortex often leads to the expansion of the polar jet stream to large parts of the European continent, especially its center and west, which leads to significant coldness in the atmosphere and waves of snow and extreme weather conditions at times, which is what has already happened.

The latest weather data indicates that the coming period will bring significant changes to the weather conditions in several regions around the world, represented by the rush of very cold polar basins towards eastern America and western Europe, in addition to very cold weather in the regions of northern Europe and Russia, which increases the possibility of heavy rain, extreme conditions and snowfall in those regions. It is expected that the central Mediterranean regions will benefit from these weather systems by increasing rainfall in several regions of North Africa amid early cold weather.
