Jordan | Amman Municipality declares a moderate state of emergency as of this evening

Weather of Arabia - The Greater Amman Municipality declared a moderate state of emergency, starting this evening, Tuesday, to deal with the state of air instability, and the media spokesman for the Amman Municipality, Nasser Al-Rahamneh, confirmed the readiness of the municipality’s cadres on the ground to deal with any reports received by the Tla’ Al-Ali emergency room.

The secretariat called on citizens, in the event of any observation, to call the unified call center numbers (102 and 117180).

The Secretariat also called for taking caution and staying away from valley streams and low-lying areas, not connecting house gutters (roofs) to sewage manholes (sewers) to avoid overflowing into the roads, and not throwing waste randomly as it causes the closure of rainwater drainage lines.

It is necessary to inspect submersible pumps on floors and shops located below street level, and for merchants to take preventive precautions when storing goods in warehouses and settlement floors.

The Municipality of Amman calls on contractors and owners of construction projects to take the initiative to secure building materials to avoid their erosion and direct cause of the closure of rainwater drainage lines.
