The rains were of varying intensity and abundant in some areas, causing a rise in the water level in the roads.
16-18 January / 2021 Second-class air depression ( normal ): The Kingdom was affected on Saturday, January 16, by the introduction of a second-class depression, as rain fell in the north of the Kingdom, and the impact of the air depression deepened on Sunday, January 17, as cold and severe weather prevailed during the day. Cold at night, with rainfalls in different regions of the north and center of the Kingdom, sometimes extending to some southern highlands.
19-20 / January / 2021: An air depression of the third degree ( medium - high ) and associated with a very cold polar air mass: the Kingdom was affected on Tuesday and Wednesday 19-20 January by the first air depression of the third degree and the first polar air mass, which caused a subsidence. Severe heat and the prevalence of extremely cold weather during the day with strong winds, as heavy rains fell and heavy showers and accumulated hail in several regions of the Kingdom, these precipitation were in the form of snow over the high mountain heights in the north, middle and south of the Kingdom, and snow accumulated over the peaks of the northern and southern highlands The impact of the polar air mass deepened after the departure of the air depression on Wednesday night, causing a large-scale wave of ice and freezing that spread across different regions of the Kingdom, and this was followed by the control of the Siberian high and the prevalence of very cold weather with the blowing of the eastern winds.
28-30 / January / 2021 Class II ( normal ) air depression : The month of January was sealed with a second class air depression, accompanied by the flow of polar winds, which caused a significant decrease in temperatures and heavy rainfall in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom. From the southern regions, the rains were accompanied by the occurrence of thunder and hail showers, and snow fell over the high mountain heights for a few hours in the north, center and south of the Kingdom. That snow was accumulating in a limited way in the heights of Ajloun Governorate and the Rashadiya area in Tafila.
