Jordan | The pomegranate harvest season begins in Al-Koura District, northern Jordan
Arab Weather - Al-Koura District (Irbid Governorate) in northern Jordan is considered one of the main areas in the Kingdom for cultivating pomegranate orchards, especially on the banks of the ever-flowing valleys in (Wadi Zaqlab) and (Wadi Abu Ziad) in northern Al-Koura, and Wadi Al-Rayyan (Al-Yabis) (Jdita) in the south; where the cultivated area is about (1200) square dunums. The most famous types are (Halawi), (Hammadi), (Lafani), (Mawardi), (Sharaabi), (Mawani), (Zaqlabi), and (Akkawi); which are local varieties. Pomegranate is considered one of the most beneficial fruits for the body, and it also works to resist cancer cells.
Pomegranate orchards in Jordan
Jordanians have excelled in producing various forms and types of this blessed tree, which are: natural pomegranate juice, high-quality natural pomegranate molasses in the traditional way; natural pomegranate vinegar; natural pomegranate jam; pomegranate seed oil; natural pomegranate soap; natural pomegranate peel powder (to treat stomach problems and irritable bowel syndrome); pomegranate tea; and pomegranate nougat.
The harvest season continues until mid-December.
