The following detailed report highlights some important aspects of the rainy season performance in Jordan:

First: The amount of rainfall achieved relative to what is assumed until (21-12-2021)

The data of the Jordanian Meteorological Department showed that the performance rate of the rainy season amounted to about 50% compared to the amounts of rain that are supposed to be falling for this time of the year. The rain is supposed to fall for this time of the year, and in light of concern about the water situation in Jordan, especially with the weak rainy season that has passed over the Kingdom.

Referring to the statistical report, it shows that there is a noticeable variation in rain performance between the governorates of the Kingdom, while Zarqa Governorate recorded a distinguished rain performance of 104%, but the city of Wadi Musa, for example, witnessed weak precipitation and the percentage of rain performance did not exceed 9%, and after the performance was The rain was excellent over the governorates of Karak and Tafileh during the past month. The rain performance declined to become acceptable, and by that we mean weak rain conditions, especially on the southern heights since then.

The results of analyzing the same data indicate that the southern regions suffer from weak rain performance despite its occurrence in several regions. For example, the rain performance in Shobak was 24%, while in Ma’an 34%, while the rain performance increased well in Salt, the capital and the general northern regions. Good values are between 75 and 87%.

Second: The reason for the poor rain performance in the Kingdom during the fall:

Specialists in Arab weather believe that the reason for the poor performance of rain among the governorates of the Kingdom is that the Kingdom was affected by sub-systems during the past weeks, while the region was affected by the first air depression classified at the end of the autumn season.
