Jordan | Preliminary details of the areas covered by the snow forecast in the Eastern Badia, Jordan, on Sunday

Weather of Arabia - The Arab Regional Weather Center indicated that a cold air front will cross the Kingdom on Sunday, and cold, polar winds coming from Siberia will rush behind it, affecting the Kingdom at night.

The center revealed that several areas of the eastern Badia (Al-Ruwaished, Al-Safawi, the international road connecting with Baghdad, the Jordanian/Iraqi borders, Al-Dafiya and Umm Al-Qatin) are expected to witness snowfall over them, God willing, with the occurrence of accumulations in those areas as a result of the confluence of precipitation with polar winds.

As for the rest of the regions, the weather will continue to be cold and often cloudy in several regions, and the frequency of rain will intensify again, so that rains fall, God willing, at intervals in several regions of the Kingdom, sometimes heavy.

Winds will be active from northwest to southwesterly, with strong gusts in some areas.

Sunday recommendations:

1) Attention to the dangers of slipping as a result of snowfall in the eastern Badia areas, which include Al-Ruwaished, Al-Safawi, the international road connecting with Baghdad, the Jordanian/Iraqi borders, Al-Dufayana and Umm Al-Qatin.
2) Attention not to be in the valleys and cliffs in the north and center of the Kingdom, for fear of their flow.

Arctic cold winds rushing from Siberia towards the region, including the Kingdom, on Sunday / Monday night

The weather forecast staff at the Arab Weather Center expected a sharp drop in night temperatures on Sunday/Monday night and be below zero degrees Celsius in several regions of the Kingdom.

The weather at the beginning of the night will be very cold and fluctuate between partly cloudy and cloudy, with showers of rain, God willing, in the south of the Kingdom. Snow is also expected in the southeastern Badia regions, in addition to the Sharah heights.

The Arab Weather Center pointed out that later during the night, the chances of precipitation weaken and the clouds decrease, and the weather turns to become very cold in most areas, and a strong wave of ice and freezing occurs in most areas, including external and internal roads.

The wind will be northeasterly light to moderate in speed.

In such exceptional weather conditions, it is recommended to
1) Pay attention to the dangers of slipping as a result of snowfall in the southeastern Badia and Al Sharah Highlands.
2) The necessity of extreme caution due to the formation of ice on several roads in the Kingdom, including external and internal roads.
3) Pay attention to the temperature dropping below zero degrees Celsius.
4) The farmers’ attention to the low temperatures and the dangers of freezing and ice, and also from the fear of the arrival of the ice wave to some areas of the Jordan Valley.
5) Observe the safe use of heating devices.
