Jordan | Temperatures in the capital Amman are higher than some Saudi cities. How so?
Arab Weather - Weather forecasters at the "Arab Weather" Center said that despite the tropical high pressure system and the heat dome being centered in the Arabian Peninsula, the expected temperatures in the capital Amman during the coming days will be higher than in some Saudi cities.
Weather forecasters explain that the comparison does not apply to most Saudi cities, but rather to parts of them, specifically some cities located in the highlands of western and southwestern Saudi Arabia, as these areas in Saudi Arabia are considered to have a mountainous geographical nature, and some of the mountains rise more than two thousand meters above sea level. Therefore, due to the height of these areas above sea level, moderate weather sometimes prevails in them during the summer, especially with the effect of seasonal rains, which increase the moderate atmosphere and work to reduce temperatures further.
As an example of the difference in temperature between the capital Amman and some Saudi cities, it is expected that temperatures in the coming days in the east of the capital Amman will be between 35-37 degrees Celsius, while the expected maximum temperature in the Saudi city of Abha is between 26-28 degrees Celsius, a difference of more than 8 degrees.
