Arab Weather - Weather experts at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the latest indications from advanced weather maps are that temperatures will continue to be slightly above average in the coming days, with the weather being normal to relatively hot in the western and mountainous regions of the Kingdom. There are also no indications yet of heat waves, unlike last year when the Kingdom was affected by a strong heat wave during the same period.

Regarding the weather tomorrow, Sunday, the latest weather data from the Arab Weather Center indicates that temperatures will remain above average by about two degrees Celsius, and the weather will be normal to relatively hot in all regions, and hot in the Dead Sea, the Jordan Valley and Aqaba. The winds will be northwesterly, moderate in speed, and will pick up in the afternoon hours.

Normal to relatively hot summer weather the past few days, unlike last year.

Thus, temperatures will continue to be about two degrees Celsius higher than their average for this time of year during the current week, and normal summer weather will prevail over the mountains, relatively hot in the rest of the regions, and very hot in the Jordan Valley, with the appearance of low clouds in the north of the Kingdom and some central regions during the early morning hours.

Maximum temperatures will be in the early thirties Celsius over the mountains, while they will reach the mid-thirties Celsius in the rest of the cities and regions of the Kingdom, and reach the early forties Celsius in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba. Therefore, the weather will be hot in these areas. The winds will continue to be northwesterly, moderate in speed, accompanied by active gusts in the afternoon and evening.

By 8 degrees Celsius... the maximum temperature in Amman on August 14 this year is in contrast to last August

The Kingdom experienced a severe heat wave during the first half of August 2023, during which the Jordanian capital Amman recorded an absolute maximum temperature of 43.7°C at 1:30pm on Monday, August 14, 2023. This exceeded the previous record temperature for the same region, which was recorded twice on August 20, 2010 and July 30, 2000, and which reached 43.5°C. This is the highest since the Kingdom’s climate records began 100 years ago, highlighting the importance of this event in the history of meteorology.

In stark contrast, heat waves are far from the Kingdom this year, and the expected maximum temperatures in the capital, Amman, on August 14, 2024 will be about 8 degrees Celsius lower for the same date compared to last year, as the maximum temperature east of the capital, Amman, will reach about 36 degrees Celsius, which is far from 40 degrees Celsius, thank God.

Mild and humid nights continue in the Kingdom in the coming days with high humidity in the atmosphere

Weather maps at the Arab Weather Regional Center indicate that the weather will continue to be pleasant in various regions of the Kingdom, especially the high mountainous areas during the evening and night hours during the current week. However, the weather may tend to be slightly cold in the late night and dawn hours in parts of the high mountainous areas and the eastern plains, while the weather will be warm in the early night in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, the city of Aqaba and the eastern regions, and tends to be moderate in the late hours.

Weather forecasters at the Arab Weather Center said that temperature maps indicate that minimum temperatures recorded minutes after sunrise will reach 16-18 degrees Celsius in the high mountain peaks, especially the Sharah Mountains, while they will be between 19-23 degrees Celsius in the rest of the regions, including the capital, Amman. This coincides with a gradual increase in surface humidity levels, and low clouds appear, especially in the northern regions of the Kingdom during the late night hours.

Moderate northwesterly winds will continue to blow over the Kingdom during the afternoon and evening hours, accompanied by active gusts at times, especially in the highlands and eastern regions. The winds, in turn, lead to a moderate atmosphere and a reduction in the feeling of heat, especially in the mountainous regions.
