Jordan | A colder than usual air mass will affect the Kingdom on Sunday, accompanied by showers of rain in the afternoon, concentrated in the north of the Kingdom

Arab Weather - Weather experts at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the latest weather map outputs show the movement of an air mass with colder than usual temperatures towards the Levant, causing a drop in temperatures in Jordan, especially at night.

Temperatures will drop from Sunday to below 20 degrees Celsius over the mountains.

Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Center said that the latest forecasts indicate that the Kingdom will be affected by an autumn air mass on Sunday and Monday, and thus temperatures will drop to be colder than their average for this time of year by about 2-4 degrees Celsius. The weather will be cold over the highlands and pleasant in the rest of the regions, as maximum temperatures during the day will reach below the twenties Celsius over the highlands of the capital, Amman, and most of the high mountainous areas, and the winds will be northwesterly to northwesterly, moderate in speed, and sometimes active.

Clear cold weather at night early next week and weather that requires warmer clothes

During the night hours, especially after midnight and early morning, the weather becomes unsuitable for outdoor sessions in the aforementioned areas, due to the cold weather and the noticeable drop in minimum temperatures, which may reach about 8-12 degrees Celsius in most areas, including the capital, Amman. Therefore, "Arab Weather" advises wearing warmer clothes that suit the cold weather during the dawn and morning hours.

Large temperature differences and warning of seasonal diseases

As temperatures continue to drop during the night in the coming days, noticeable temperature differences between day and night are expected, ranging between 7-10 degrees Celsius. Warnings are issued regarding the risks of temperature differences and cold weather during the night, which may increase the chances of catching a cold and seasonal diseases, especially among children.

The air mass may be accompanied by showers of rain on Sunday.

The air mass will move humidly across the Mediterranean Sea, and thus clouds will gradually appear and the weather will turn partly cloudy to cloudy in the afternoon and evening of Sunday. There will be a chance for scattered showers of rain in parts of the north of the Kingdom, sometimes heavy, and it is possible for some rain showers to extend to parts of the center of the Kingdom.
