Jordan | A second-degree depression accompanied by very cold air masses on Friday, followed by very humid westerly air currents on Saturday.Details
Arab weather - the latest outputs of numerical weather models indicate that the Kingdom was affected by a second-degree (normal) air depression in all layers of the atmosphere, superficially centered to the north of the Egyptian coast on Friday and accompanied by a very cold air mass.
Where there is a significant drop in temperatures on Friday, and they return again to become several degrees below their rates for this time of the year.
The weather is generally cold in most areas, and very cold over the high mountainous heights, and dusty at times and fluctuates between partly cloudy and cloudy.
Intermittent showers of rain and hail are expected in random areas of the Kingdom before noon and in the afternoon. Intermittent snow showers are expected over the high mountainous regions, especially the northern and southern regions, and accumulations over the southern high mountain peaks are not excluded.
The winds are southwesterly, brisk, and raise dust in most desert areas from the south and east of the Kingdom.
In the Gulf of Aqaba:
- Wind: Active southerly speed, with strong gusts at times.
- Sea state and wave height: high (60-120 cm).
- Sea water surface temperature: 22°C.
Friday's recommendations
- Pay attention to the dangers of slipping as a result of hail showers.
- Attention to the possibility of snow accumulations over the southern high mountains.
- Pay attention to the low horizontal visibility as a result of dust waves caused by the wind.
- Attention from the height of the waves in the Gulf of Aqaba.
The effect of the depression on Friday/Saturday night deepened on the southern regions
The air depression is concentrated on Friday/Saturday night off the Palestinian coasts, which leads to a deepening of its impact initially on the southern regions of the Kingdom, and then extending its impact towards the central and then northern regions with the passage of time at night (contrary to what is usual).
So that the weather in the south of the Kingdom turns to become cold, cloudy and rainy, God willing, and the rain will be heavy and accompanied by the occurrence of thunder and hail showers. Snow falls and accumulates on the southern high mountains, which are more than 1450 meters above sea level, but the chances of snow falling decrease with the passage of time at night and are limited to the high peaks.
These regular rainfalls gradually extend from the south of the Kingdom towards its center with the passage of the night, while intermittent showers of rain sometimes fall in the northern regions.
And low clouds touching the surface of the earth cross most of the mountainous heights so that thick fog is formed in those areas.
The winds are westerly, moderate to brisk, accompanied by some strong gusts in the southern high mountains.
Friday/Saturday night recommendations:
- Attention to the dangers of torrential rains and the flow of valleys in most of the southern regions of the Kingdom, especially near the mountainous heights.
- Attention to the dangers of slipping as a result of snowfall in the southern high mountains.
- Attention from low and possibly lack of horizontal visibility as a result of thick fog and clouds touching the surface of the earth in several areas of mountainous heights.
Very humid western air currents rushing behind the center of the depression, Saturday
It is expected, God willing, that the depression will move towards northeastern Syria on Saturday, so its influence will recede from the southern regions, while its impact will continue on the central and northern regions as a result of the Kingdom being affected by very humid northwestern to western air currents pushing behind the depression.
And temperatures remain several degrees colder than their usual rates for this time of year on Saturday.
The weather will be cold, cloudy and rainy, God willing, at intervals in the south and center of the Kingdom and extends over time towards the northern regions of the Kingdom, but also with the passage of time the chances of precipitation decline from the southern regions.
It also continues to cross low clouds touching the surface of the earth in many mountainous heights, so that fog and thick fog are formed in those areas.
The wind is northwest, moderate to brisk.
In the Gulf of Aqaba:
- Wind: active northerly speed.
- Sea condition and wave height: light wave height (5-20 cm).
- Sea water surface temperature: 22°C.
Saturday recommendations:
- Attention from low and possibly lack of horizontal visibility as a result of thick fog and clouds touching the surface of the earth in several areas of mountainous heights.
Cold weather continues on Saturday/Sunday night with scattered showers of rain
The weather continues on Saturday/Sunday night, generally cool and cloudy, with scattered showers of rain, God willing, in the north and center of the Kingdom, and fog is expected to form in different regions of the Kingdom, especially with the late night hours.
The wind is westerly, moderate in speed, turning into light and choppy in the late hours of the night.
Saturday/Sunday Night Recommendations:
- Attention from low and possibly lack of horizontal visibility as a result of thick fog and clouds touching the surface of the earth in several areas of mountainous heights.
