Jordan | An atmospheric depression classified as a third degree on Monday, accompanied by heavy rain, snow showers, strong winds and low temperatures
Arab Weather - Forecasters in the Arab Weather Center classified the air depression coming to the Kingdom on Monday as being of the third degree, which is the degree that means that the depression is highly effective, according to the innovative depression intensity scale of Arab weather, which consists of 5 degrees, the fifth strongest and the weakest First.
This depression is associated with several weather phenomena, including:
- An active cold air front crosses with the late morning hours of Monday
- Heavy rain showers accompanied by intense hail showers in the north, central and southern parts of the Kingdom during the crossing of the cold air front, which may be thunderstorms at times.
- It is not excluded that the precipitation is mixed with snow above the altitude, which is snow showers above the heights of more than 1100 meters above sea level, sometimes accumulating above the altitude of 1300 meters from Monday noon until Monday/Tuesday night.
- On Monday, strong winds exceed 90 km/h and create dust waves in desert areas.
- Very cold weather in all regions until the end of the week.
During the period of impact of this depression, Arabia Weather recommends:
- Attention while driving on mountain roads due to the risk of slipping caused by hail and snow.
- The necessity of fixing the external holdings due to the severity of the expected wind speed, and reducing the driving speed of large vehicles on external roads.
- Attention to the dangers of sand storms in the desert areas of the south and east of the Kingdom and their impact on horizontal visibility, especially on external roads.
- Attention to the dangers of high waves in the Gulf of Aqaba due to strong southern winds and the effects of this on marine navigation.
- Observe the safe use of heating equipment.
The effect of this depression coincides with the beginning of the square and the astronomical winter season in Jordan, and therefore it is expected that the square will begin this year on rainy precipitation and winter conditions par excellence, God willing.
