Jordan - Ministry of Environment: Jordan is affected more than others by climate changes by up to 20%
Weather of Arabia - The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Environment, Muhammad al-Khashashnah, said, on Sunday, that Jordan has been affected more than others by climate changes by up to 20%, especially on the issue of declining rainfall.
Al-Khashashneh added that preparations for Jordan's participation in the 27th United Nations Climate Conference (COP27) have been prepared for more than 3 months, whether from the government sector, the private sector and civil society institutions.
He pointed out that Jordan relies heavily on this participation through 3 axes, namely: the axis of negotiations that focuses on several issues, including adaptation, mitigation, financing and international cooperation, the second axis is bilateral meetings and international meetings, and the last axis relates to bilateral relations and the presentation of the most prominent Jordanian achievements with regard to to mitigate climate change.
A Jordanian delegation headed by the Minister of Environment and Chairman of the National Climate Change Committee, Muawiya Al-Radaydah, will participate in the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, which starts on Sunday; The delegation will present four discussion papers.
