Omani Meteorology: The tropical status classification has been reduced to a tropical storm as it begins to cross Al-Mahra Governorate now
Weather of Arabia - The Civil Aviation Authority in the Sultanate of Oman issued Warning No. (7) regarding the tropical situation Tej, which stated:
“The classification of the tropical condition decreased to the level of a tropical storm with the beginning of the storm’s center crossing land through Al-Mahra Governorate in the Republic of Yemen. The wind speed around the center is estimated at 55 to 63 knots, with continued rainfall of varying intensity and active winds blowing during the coming hours over Dhofar Governorate and parts of the country. The southern part of Al Wasta Governorate, and the center is currently about 240 km away from the state of Salalah.
"The coastal and mountainous states of the Dhofar Governorate are currently still witnessing rains of varying intensity and the descent of a number of valleys and reefs. It is expected that the peak of the impact of the tropical condition will continue until noon tomorrow, Tuesday, on the Dhofar Governorate and the southern parts of the Al Wusta Governorate, with heavy to very heavy rains of (50-300) mm, leading to flowing through the valleys and reefs and blowing active to very high winds (40-60 knots). The sea will be rough with waves on the coasts of the Arabian Sea, ranging between (5-8) metres, with the possibility of sea water spilling over low-lying coastal areas and creeks.”
The Civil Aviation Authority calls upon everyone to take the utmost caution and caution and not to risk crossing valleys and to stay away from low-lying places. It also calls upon not to go to the sea during this period.
