United Nations: Half of the world's countries are not prepared for disasters

In the report, the United Nations experts pointed out that countries with weak early warning systems record an average of eight times higher death toll from disasters compared to countries with more effective systems that provide appropriate early warning systems that warn of floods, droughts, heat waves, storms and other disasters. The report showed that the number of people affected by disasters increased by nearly twofold, from an average of 1,147 people out of 100,000 per year between 2005 and 2014, to 2,066 people in the period between 2012 and 2021.
