The Egyptian Fatwa announces the end date of Ramadan and the first day of Eid al-Fitr
Weather of Arabia - The Egyptian Fatwa House announced the date of reconnaissance of the crescent of Shawwal for the year 1445 AH, with the aim of determining the date of Eid al-Fitr and the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Regarding the date of observing the crescent of Shawwal 1445, Dar Al-Iftaa explained that it will verify the legal sighting on Monday , Ramadan 29, corresponding to April 8, 2024, and if the sighting of the crescent is confirmed, Tuesday, April 9, 2024 will be the first day of Shawwal and therefore the first day of Eid Al-Fitr. Blessed, but if the sighting of the crescent is not confirmed, the month of Ramadan will be completed to become 30 days , and the beginning of the month of Shawwal and the first day of Eid Al Fitr will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
However, astronomical calculations indicate that Ramadan this year will extend to include 30 days. Therefore, the beginning of the month of Shawwal and the first day of Eid al-Fitr will be on Wednesday , April 10 , but it must be noted that these dates depend on the sighting of the crescent moon at the beginning of each Hijri month, as is the practice in most Arab and Islamic countries using astronomical observatories.
