Weather conditions determine the reasons for the recurring rise of dust in the airspace of Iraq
Weather of Arabia - The Meteorological Authority has determined, today, Tuesday, the reasons for the recurrence of dust and dust storms in Iraq's airspace
The director of media for the authority, Amer Al-Jabri, said in a statement to (Baghdad Today), that "the reasons for the recurrence of dust rise are the difference in temperatures between the two depressions, the lack of rain and the fragility of the soil resulting from the lack of vegetation cover," noting that "the majority of dust is coming from areas of western Iraq because it is exposed and lacking vegetation.”
He added, "The orchards and farms in Iraq have become subject to razing and turning them into residential areas in light of the country's lack of vegetation cover, and this exposes the atmosphere to a recurrence of the phenomenon of rising dust."
Al-Jabri added, "The government must work to put an end to the bulldozing of orchards throughout the country and strengthen the green belt inside and outside Iraqi cities."
