Weather of Arabia - Boumerdes province in northern Algeria was affected today by severe rainstorms caused by the region being affected by a state of air instability, which worked on the formation of torrential torrents in some areas.
For its part, the Civil Protection Units in Mahdia were in the square immediately after the rains, and they worked to remove vehicles and evacuate people caught in the torrential rainwater that has fallen since last night, especially in Boumerdes, according to what was reported by the Director of Civil Protection in Mahdia Brigadier General Hatem Boubaker.
Brigadier General Boubaker confirmed to "Shams FM" that rain water infiltrated a large number of homes, but the roads are closed, and the Civil Protection Units cannot reach the houses to extract rain water.
Brigadier General Boubaker added that the priority is to save people trapped in rainwater and remove cars, stressing that there will be no casualties.
