Algeria brings forest fires under control

Weather of Arabia - Algeria announced today, Wednesday, its success in controlling fires that broke out in its forests. These fires swept through different regions of the country and led to the death of at least 34 people, including ten soldiers, and forced about 1,500 people to leave their homes.

North Africa and Southern Europe are currently experiencing a severe heat wave, with temperatures as high as 49°C recorded in some Tunisian cities.

The region was swept by a large heat wave, which led to record temperatures in the border town of Malola, where the temperature reached 49 degrees Celsius. This heat wave contributed to the outbreak of forest fires that swept some areas in this region.

Witnesses told Reuters that the fires broke out in mountainous areas and caused them to reach the homes of some residents in the town, forcing hundreds of families to flee their homes.

In addition, a civil protection official stated that hundreds of residents were evacuated from the town using fishermen's boats and coast guard vessels, to ensure their safety and transport them away from danger areas.
