Civil Defense: 11 suffocation accidents resulted in 20 injuries due to the wrong use of heating devices within a week

Weather of Arabia - Civil Defense crews dealt with 9,729 reports during the past week, including 11 suffocation accidents, resulting in 20 injuries; Because of the wrong use of heating devices, according to the head of the Operations Division in the Civil Defense, Ahmed Al-Zayad, on Sunday.

Al-Ziyad explained to "The Kingdom" that "Civil Defense efforts during the past week, (from Sunday until the end of Saturday), the Civil Defense Directorate dealt with 9,729 different communications between firefighting, ambulance and rescue, which were received by the civil defense operations rooms in all governorates."

And “the ambulance field accounted for 90% of these reports, in addition to dealing with sick cases in general,” according to the increases, which spoke of “11 suffocation accidents, resulting in 20 injuries, due to the wrong use of heating devices.”

Fire accidents constituted "2.8 percent of the 274 reports of accidents, including 82 house fires, most of which were due to electrical shorts, in addition to the wrong use of heaters (14 accidents), which resulted in 6 injuries, shortness of breath, and one death during the past week," according to the increases. He pointed out, "incidents are still under investigation, and 5 incidents of child tampering."
