Arab Weather - Media outlets reported, quoting an informed source, that the official launch of the Riyadh Metro will take place next Wednesday, November 27 , in its first phase through 3 operational tracks . The other three tracks are scheduled to open in mid-December.
Details of the tracks operated in the first phase
According to the source, the tracks that will be operated in this phase will include:
- The path extending from Al-Uruba to Al-Batha.
- King Khalid Airport Road Path.
- The intersection of Abdul Rahman bin Auf and Sheikh Hassan bin Hussein.
The source indicated that these routes will operate at full operational capacity starting from the specified launch date.
Riyadh Metro Ticket Prices Announced
The source said that the prices of tickets and discounted packages for the Riyadh Metro will be announced in the coming few days. He added that the authorities have urged the company operating the project to offer competitive prices to attract the largest number of passengers, with the aim of reducing congestion in the capital by between 20% and 30%.

- The Riyadh Metro extends over a length of 176 kilometers.
- The project includes 85 stations.
- It integrates with the Riyadh bus network, which includes 24 routes with a total length of 1,083 km, and includes 776 stations.
It is worth noting that the contracts for the Riyadh Metro project date back to 2013, when they were awarded to three international consortiums, with a total value of $22.5 billion (equivalent to approximately 84.4 billion riyals).
