Saudi Arabia | Opening of West Qassim Airport in Al-Rass Governorate
Weather of Arabia - Today, Wednesday, the West Qassim Airport project was opened in Al-Rass Governorate, which is considered a real addition to the aviation sector in the region, and constitutes the nucleus of promising future aviation activities.
This project comes with the support of the Emirate of the Qassim region through the Investment Development Committee, and with a specific community initiative from the Al-Rass Chamber of Commerce, which is implementing the project, while the Saudi Aviation Club will operate and manage the airport.
The airport is located in Al-Rass Governorate on a vast area and a distinguished location, with future expansion plans and horizons to meet the expected demand for the services provided.
The head of the Al-Rass Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Fayez bin Dhar Al-Shuaili, said that the project began with an idea from His Highness the Emir of the Qassim region in 2019, and the Al-Rass Chamber began implementing construction work in mid-2020.
Al-Shuaili explained that the project includes many services related to sports aviation, gliding, and skydiving, in addition to a remote aircraft control center and other facilities.
The airport will provide many services to fans of all types of aviation sports, including aviation, training, entertainment, and displaying investment opportunities related to the aviation sector.
This project reflects the pioneering developmental and societal role played by the Al-Rass Chamber, which is expected to have a prominent economic impact and contribute to increasing economic activity, providing job opportunities, and supporting entrepreneurs.
The airport plan includes many buildings and facilities that support the provision of high-quality services and meet the highest international standards for security and safety related to the aviation sector.
