Weather of Arabia - The Ministry of Interior launched the digital identity service for those coming to the Kingdom with a Hajj visa this year 1445 AH , as part of the efforts of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to promote digital transformation and develop human services in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The Ministry explained that the digital identity for pilgrims, which was developed in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Ministries of Hajj and Umrah, and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), enables guests to prove their identity electronically through the “Absher” and “Tawakkalna” platforms, which facilitates their use on their journey, and enhances... The quality of services provided to them and improving their experience.
This launch of the digital identity comes within the framework of the government’s endeavor to achieve the highest levels of quality in serving pilgrims and keep pace with developments in the field of digital transformation to improve their experience during their stay in the Kingdom.
At the same time, government agencies are working to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims, as the Saudi Ministry of Interior announced the imposition of financial penalties on those who violate Hajj instructions regulations without a permit, as the value of the penalty amounts to approximately 10,000 riyals for each person caught without a Hajj permit, whether he is a citizen. Or resident.
The efforts of the Saudi security authorities and the Hajj season
As the Hajj season approaches, the security authorities are making intense efforts to monitor fake advertisements targeting Muslims wishing to perform the Hajj. These efforts aim to protect pilgrims from manipulation and fraud, as the Saudi Ministry of Interior strongly warns against involvement in these misleading advertisements, and strengthens its efforts in combating exploiters. And traffickers in Hajj campaigns.
The security services urge citizens and residents not to be carried away by these fake advertisements on social media, which range from offers to perform Hajj for others, distribute sacrifices, sell Hajj bracelets, and even secure means of transportation. They warn against trusting unreliable individuals or institutions and stress the necessity of imposing Penalties stipulated under the system for those proven to be involved in these illegal practices.
