Saudi Arabia | Riyadh...replacing the name of Arabic coffee with “Saudi Arabia”
Weather of Arabia - The Consumer Protection Association in Saudi Arabia issued a decision requiring Arabic coffee to be called “Saudi coffee,” considering failure to comply with this decision a “violation.”
The Saudi Ministry of Commerce called on all restaurants, cafes, and roasters in the Kingdom to adopt the name “Saudi Coffee” instead of “Arabic Coffee” when naming and describing this product.
The Federation of Saudi Chambers also issued a circular to all concerned parties to adopt the name “Saudi Coffee” instead of “Arabic Coffee” in its list of products, and to confirm that the name will not be used as a trademark.
This news spread widely in Saudi Arabia via social media platforms, and many social media pioneers interacted with it.
The Saudi Ministry of Culture launched an initiative in 2022, during which it announced the designation of the year as the “Year of Saudi Coffee.”

By the end of 2021, Saudi Arabia had 400,000 coffee trees. The Kingdom aims to plant 1.2 million Khawlani coffee trees, one of its most prominent coffee products, by 2025, according to Okaz newspaper.
Saudi Arabia produces 800 tons of coffee annually from 600 farms, according to the newspaper, and the Kingdom is ranked among the countries that consume the most coffee in the world, due to the high rate of Saudi per capita coffee consumption, as the volume of Saudi spending on purchasing ready-made coffee is estimated at more than one billion riyals ($266 million).
