Saudi Arabia | Geological Survey: An earthquake measuring 4.40 on the Richter scale was detected Thursday morning
Weather of Arabia - The Geological Survey confirmed that an earthquake was detected this morning, Thursday, as its magnitude reached 4.40 on the Richter scale, without leaving any impact on Saudi lands. The Geological Survey stated in a statement published on the X platform that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the middle of the Red Sea, and its depth reached 32 kilometers.
Cause of earthquake
The official spokesman for the Saudi Geological Survey, Tariq Aba Al-Khail, confirmed that the cause of the earthquake is due to the fault located in the Red Sea, which is considered the western limit of the Arabian Plate, which is diverging from the African Plate.
