Weather of Arabia - The General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques raised the lower part of the covering of the Kaaba by approximately three metres, and covered the raised part with a zar of white cotton cloth approximately two meters wide on all sides, as is the annual custom in preparation for this year’s Hajj season .

The process of raising the Kaaba curtain is carried out by a specialized team from the King Abdulaziz Complex for Covering the Holy Kaaba, where the black silk curtain decorated with verses from the Holy Qur’an is folded to the top, in order to protect it from tampering and provide the opportunity for worshipers to view the Kaaba uncovered, according to the annual custom.
