Saudi Arabia is building a city for pilgrims with 55 billion riyals
ArabiaWeather.com- Prince Faisal bin Salman, governor of the Medina region in western Saudi Arabia, laid the foundation stone for the establishment of King Abdullah City for pilgrims, which costs 55 billion riyals, according to Okaz newspaper.
Two contracts worth 7 billion riyals were awarded, one of which is for the implementation of infrastructure, which amounts to 4 billion riyals, to Al-Suwailem Company, and the other is part of the buildings to Al-Fouzan Company, with a value of 3 billion riyals.
The Immigration Company, owned by the Public Investment Fund, is implementing the project, which is located on an area of about 1.6 million square meters, about 3 kilometers from the Prophet's Mosque.
The project aims to house and serve about 120,000 guests. The project also includes the construction of 80 towers for hotel housing and 20 other towers for administrative services.
In addition to a central transit station for public transport with a capacity of 84,000 people per hour, in addition to a commercial center and a public hospital with a capacity of 400 beds, and a mosque that can accommodate 10,000 worshipers.
