Saudi Arabia | A moderate air mass affects the north of the Kingdom and the remnants of the Al-Sayal depression reach the southeast of the Kingdom (details)
Arab Weather - The latest outputs of numerical computer models indicate that most regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will continue to be affected by a high pressure system in the upper atmosphere, accompanied by a relatively hot to hot air mass across the lower atmosphere. Temperatures remain 5-6 degrees Celsius higher than their climatic averages, while the northern regions will be affected by a cooler air mass coming across the eastern Mediterranean basin.
Temperatures approach 40 degrees Celsius in Riyadh and hot weather in most areas
The weather in the coming days will be relatively hot to hot during the day, with maximum temperatures approaching 40 degrees Celsius in the capital, Riyadh, while the weather will remain moderate in the southwestern mountain range (the Kingdom's summer resorts) due to the elevation of these areas above sea level. The winds will be variable in direction and light to moderate, while they will be southwesterly and active in speed during the afternoon and evening periods in the Hail region, which will increase the concentration of dust and suspended dust in the atmosphere.
At night, temperatures drop and the weather tends to be moderate in the late night hours and dawn, while it is pleasant in the southwestern highlands, and tends to be cold over the high peaks.
A moderate air mass affects the north of the Kingdom and is accompanied by a cold night
In detail, it is expected that a moderate air mass coming from the eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea and the Levant region will push towards the northern parts of the Kingdom, to affect, starting from Friday and during the first days of next week, "Tabuk - Al-Jawf - the Northern Borders", accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperatures.
Maximum temperatures are expected to drop in the mentioned areas starting Friday in Tabuk, Al-Jouf and the Northern Borders to between 28-30 degrees Celsius, while they will drop at night to between 19-15 degrees Celsius. Thus, the temperature differences between day and night will become sharp and may exceed 15 degrees Celsius, so it is recommended to wear light coats during the dawn and early morning hours, especially in the first days of next week.
The remnants of the Al-Sayal depression reach the southeast of the Kingdom, and cumulus formations are renewed on some of the southwestern mountains.
The southwestern highlands will continue to be affected by thunderstorms during the coming days, as cumulonimbus clouds multiply over parts of the Asir and Al-Baha highlands, accompanied by thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by hail and sudden winds.
Meanwhile, the southeast of the Kingdom, specifically the south of the Empty Quarter, is affected by a state of atmospheric instability resulting from the remnants of the Al-Sayal depression on Wednesday and Thursday, as clouds appear at different heights interspersed with cumulonimbus clouds leading to thunderstorms accompanied by sudden winds and perhaps hail.
God knows best.
