Saudi Arabia | For the first time.. Saudi women participate in the work of replacing the Kaaba’s covering
Weather of Arabia - In a unique event and for the first time, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia witnessed prominent women’s participation in the ceremony of changing the covering of the Holy Kaaba, as members of the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque participated in this historic event.
This annual ceremony is considered of great importance in the Holy Land, as it involves changing and renewing the covering of the Kaaba at the beginning of every Hijri year.

Stages of covering the Kaaba
In detail, the three stages of changing the kiswah included complex and elaborate operations, starting from the initial preparations until implementing the changing of the kiswah after midnight on the first of Muharram. 159 qualified craftsmen from the people of the Kingdom participated in this ceremony, as they made 56 gilded pieces on the kiswah using the finest materials and finest threads. In accordance with the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
The covering of the Kaaba was decorated with the clear, complex Thuluth script, which is an integral part of the visual aesthetic of the Arabic language. This type of script was used to write verses and supplications on the covering in various sizes and distinct artistic forms.
In addition, the Kaaba was covered from the inside with a green cloth decorated with Quranic verses and selected supplications, reflecting the care and precision in every detail of this solemn process.
