Saudi Arabia | The World Health Organization accredits Al-Khobar as a healthy city
Weather of Arabia - The city of Al-Khobar in Saudi Arabia has become a healthy city after obtaining the accreditation of the World Health Organization, thanks to its achievement of tourism, entertainment and health standards and components.
The Secretary of the Eastern Region, Engineer Fahd Al-Jubeir, noted the importance of Al-Khobar Governorate obtaining this accreditation due to its achievement of community participation and cooperation between sectors to deal with the determinants of health and development, in addition to meeting health standards and requirements related to healthy cities. He stressed that this achievement reinforces Al-Khobar’s commitment to providing the best health and environmental standards in the region.
Engineer Al-Jubeir pointed out that adopting Al-Khobar as a healthy city enhances its economic, social, tourism, and health status. He praised the positive impression of the World Health Organization delegation during the evaluation period, as a number of models and examples were reviewed in evaluating any healthy city.

Health facilities and projects
Al-Khobar Governorate includes more than 100 parks and gardens in all residential neighborhoods, green spaces with an area of more than 2,250,000 square meters, more than 47 multi-use playgrounds, 20 walkways with a length of more than 52 kilometers, and more than 150,000 trees throughout Al-Khobar as part of the “Al-Khobar” program. “The news is green.”
Al-Khobar Municipality is working to create 15 km of dedicated bicycle paths, as part of its efforts to enhance the quality of life and highlight the projects and standards that make Al-Khobar a healthy city.
