China launches an environmentally friendly rocket into space
ArabiaWeather.com - As part of its policy aimed at reducing the volume of polluting smoke emissions, China has succeeded in launching a new type of rocket whose movement depends on environmentally friendly fuel, as its movement depends on a mixture of liquid oxygen and aviation fuel.
The "Long March 6" rocket, equipped with a liquid propulsion engine, was launched from a base located in the "northern Shanxi" province on Friday morning, carrying 20 "small" satellites, according to the New China News Agency.
China's space programme, which may have military applications, is shrouded in secrecy. The government indicated in 2011 that the "Long March 6" missile is capable of carrying a payload of one ton and can put satellites into orbit at a distance of up to 700 km. Among Beijing's ambitious goals in the field of space conquest is to send a probe to Mars within the year 2020, to establish a permanent orbital station around 2022, and to send a manned mission to the moon after 2025.
