Al-Atoum pointed out the importance of coordination and the concerted efforts of the various concerned authorities aimed at overcoming the obstacles facing the brigade in limiting the damage of torrential floods during the winter seasons, due to the nature of its geographical location, which is 400 meters below sea level, and is considered an outlet for rainwater from the mountain range and heights of Al-Shifa Ghouriya Al-Sharqiyyah. surround it. He said that the existence of about 120 valleys descending from the heights of the northern Jordan Valley requires the maintenance of cleaning the streams of the valleys, especially the hot spots, and ensuring the periodic maintenance of box culverts and clearing them from the remnants of torrential floods, making sedimentary excavations and bumpers, and inspecting rainwater drainage networks to avoid potential risks of torrential rains in order to preserve the safety of citizens and their property. Al-Atoum pointed out the necessity of evacuating citizens living near valleys and places where torrents form, activating emergency rooms in the relevant municipalities and departments and coordinating between them, and ensuring the readiness of the specialized mechanisms and technical staff, shelters and relief materials. The directors of departments, members of the Civil Defense Committee and mayors, presented their work plans and the extent of readiness to face any emergency during the winter season, pointing to the work carried out in the field of cleaning valleys and culverts and installing new box culverts to accommodate rainwater drainage. They pointed to the size of the mechanisms and cadres available to deal with the effects of rainfall and the formation of torrential rains, and the need for additional mechanisms for some municipalities and strengthening the mechanisms available to the Jordan Valley Authority.
