Iraq | Extremely cold weather continues at night and early morning, with chances of frost continuing through the weekend
Arab Weather - Iraq has been affected for several days by a very cold wave compared to this time of year, resulting from the rush of a Siberian air mass. The cold wave caused unstable weather conditions that resulted in a noticeable and clear drop in temperatures. Cold and semi-winter weather prevailed during the day, while it was very cold at night with frost forming. Rain also fell in several areas in the form of snow showers over the high mountain peaks.
Gradual decline in the effects of the cold wave at the end of the week and a slight rise in temperatures
The Siberian wave will slightly recede from Iraq over the weekend, with temperatures rising slightly but remaining 8-9 degrees Celsius below their average for this time of year. The weather will be very cold in the morning with frost forming in many areas, while it will remain cold during the rest of the day in various parts of Iraq, including the capital Baghdad, where maximum temperatures in the capital will be around 16 degrees Celsius at the height of the day.
Winds will be variable in direction to northwesterly, light to moderate in speed in general.
Very cold nights continue and warm clothes are required.
Despite the high temperatures during the day, the weather at night becomes remarkably cold in all areas, including the capital Baghdad, and turns very cold during the late night hours, dawn and early morning, especially in the northern and western regions. Frost is also likely to form in parts of those areas.
Recommendations:
- Wear heavy clothing to cope with the cold weather.
- Beware of the possibility of frost formation and freezing, especially in northern areas.
And God knows best.
