Iraq | The heat dome is far from the atmosphere, but the southern and eastern regions of the country are the hottest due to the Vohn winds
Arabia Weather - The outputs of advanced computer modeling at the Arabia Weather Center show that the heat dome will be far from Iraq in the coming days, but despite this, extremely hot weather continues in most regions of Iraq, especially the southern parts of the country, where temperatures touch the end of 40 degrees Celsius in Southern regions of Iraq.
Despite the distance of the thermal dome, very hot and dusty summer weather is expected at the end of the week
In detail, weather forecasters at the Arab Weather Center said that temperatures will be higher than their average for this time of year by about 2-3 degrees Celsius in the coming days, and extremely hot summer weather will prevail in various regions of Iraq. The high reaches 46-47 degrees Celsius in the capital, Baghdad, while it reaches the end of 40 in the southern and eastern regions, especially Basra, Maysan, and the Samawah Desert. The weather is scorching in those regions despite the remoteness of the effects of the heat dome, but the seasonal low temperature and the winds of Fohn affect those regions.
As a result of the temperature differences between the eastern Mediterranean and the Arabian Peninsula, it is expected that northwesterly winds will be active at the end of the week, especially on Thursday, and will work, God willing, to attract dust waves from the Levant Desert to Iraq and reach the capital, Baghdad, so that dusty weather will prevail with varying intensity, God willing.
What are the Fohn winds and how do they affect southern and eastern Iraq?
Arab weather specialists said that the Fuhan winds are a type of hot, dry mountain winds that form when moist air rushes up the side of a mountain, then condenses and loses its moisture due to the drop in temperature at high altitudes. As dry, hot air descends on the other side of the mountain, it becomes warmer and drier.
The Fohn winds lead to a significant rise in temperatures in the affected areas as they descend from the mountains of Iran to Iraq, which increases the severity of the already hot weather in eastern and southern Iraq.
God knows.
