Iraq | Temperatures plunge again below zero degrees Celsius on Thursday/Friday night, and a warning of a strong wave of freezing
Arab weather - God willing, it is expected that the Siberian polar air mass will move towards the south and push freezing winds towards all regions of Iraq on Thursday/Friday night, as temperatures drop in all regions of the country to be below zero by approximately 14 degrees Celsius in the northern peaks or more than that In some peaks, while it is between 10- to 5- degrees Celsius in the northern and western regions, while the temperatures are between 1 and 2- in the rest of the central and southern regions, and the temperatures are touching zero degrees Celsius in the capital, Baghdad again.
Warning of a large-scale formation of freezing, including agricultural areas
The sharp drop in temperatures coincides with the rise in surface humidity, as all weather conditions are ripe for freezing to form in large areas of the country, including the capital, Baghdad. The frost and freezing include vast agricultural areas, and snow forms in wet roads.
For this night, the Arab Weather website advises:
- Attention to the danger of frost, freezing and ice forming, which poses a danger to driving on the roads and to livestock crops, so it is advised to take the necessary measures
- Reducing and not driving on roads that witness the formation of snow
- The safe use of heating devices and heavy clothing, especially for the elderly and children.
- Cover exposed pipes and put antifreeze in vehicles.
