Philippines ... Two people die due to typhoon Kamuri and Manila airport closure
Arab Weather - Hurricane swept Kammuri on Tuesday , the Philippines is accompanied by fierce winds and heavy rain, where hundreds of thousands fled to shelters and closed capital Manila international airport because of safety concerns.
The hurricane destroyed houses and threw roofs on the beach when it landed late Monday, with winds of up to 215 kilometers per hour (130 mph), according to the Joint Hurricane Warning Center.
Two people died as a result of the hurricane, while disaster official Luisito Mendoza said they were still assessing the damage.
An average of 20 storms and typhoons sweep the Philippines each year, killing hundreds and putting people in disaster-prone areas in constant poverty .
