Weather of Arabia - The market for selling and maintaining electrical generators in Kuwait witnessed a noticeable recovery during the past two days, after the Gulf country began an unprecedented rationing schedule, with the beginning of the hot summer season in the country.

Local media reported that many Kuwaiti citizens flocked to companies and stores that sell electric generators, or contacted them to find out about the prices of generators and their operational capabilities.

The local Al-Rai newspaper quoted officials from companies that sell and maintain generators in Kuwait as confirming the increase in demand for sales and maintenance outlets, in anticipation of the continuation or increase of the legalization period.

Kuwaiti citizens maintained the generators that they had had for many years and had not been using, which contributed to reviving the maintenance market.

Industry workers confirmed that operating a specific part of the house while using the elevator requires a 250 KVA generator, while operating the entire house requires a generator with a production capacity ranging from 6,000 KVA or more.

The majority of customers in the generator market were previously owners of investment and commercial projects such as hospitals and commercial centers, who are required by law to provide backup generators to secure electrical power in the event of a power outage in buildings or projects.

A schedule of when electricity will be cut off in homes

There was also a constant demand for generators by chalet and farm owners to power reserves or villas on farms, as crops require specific temperatures and lighting.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy in Kuwait issued a schedule for the dates of power outages in homes, coinciding with rising temperatures and consumption that called for rationalization.

The Ministry explained that the table specifies the areas where power outages may occur during the peak period from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., for a period ranging between one and two hours if necessary.

The country, where temperatures are currently approaching 50 degrees Celsius, witnessed a sudden power outage last Wednesday in some areas, before the Ministry of Electricity appealed to the population to cooperate and rationalize consumption voluntarily.
